Our Christmas was the "Perfect Christmas" this year. I often stress myself out during holidays so much so, they come and go without me taking the time to just breathe and enjoy. I watched a Dr. Phil episode(imagine that!) just prior to Christmas and his words really spoke to me. He said you have to be very careful to not sacrifice your own happiness by trying to make everyone else happy during the Holidays. He spoke about setting new traditions that fit "your family" and not worrying about what others so choose to do. Oh and drama. Yeah totally cut that out. So, this year I took his advice. I relaxed, I created new traditions, and I set limits on how I let others dictate my time. And you know what, it made me proud! For the first time in many years, I made Christmas a little about me and what I wanted for my family. So thank you once again, Dr. Phil.
Here's to New Family Traditions, "Dorsett style!"
And so it began...
And so it began...
Christmas Eve we had a knock on our door. I opened the door and found this.
There was a package with his letter and inside...
It was 2 tiny magical Reindeer! A book explained that once you are done writing your letters to Santa, you put them in your reindeer saddle bag and sit them on their roofs. Once you go to sleep, the reindeer fly to the North Pole and deliver them to Santa. So to work we went.
Neither of the boys could get to sleep of course, so I told them to count reindeer backwards...:)
About nine in the morning, Wil woke us to inform us that Santa had indeed paid us a visit! .
And under the tree it was quite a sight!
The boys loved their new toys! Drayke's big thing he got from Santa was roller blades. From us, he got a baseball glove.
Deagyn got a Ninja Turtle Costume set from Santa and a Imaginex Dino from us.
Sometimes it's the surprises Santa leaves, that you enjoy most!
Santa also left lots of games for the boys and man did we have fun with those!!! I absolutely love games, even though I lose far too often (which apparently provides ample comic relief for my adoring offspring)!

Here is just one example of my losing streak.
Thank you Lord for this wonderful Christmas and my perfect little family! And thanks to those who love us and continue to pray for us through our hard times. And most importantly...
Happy Birthday Jesus!
Love,
Melissa, Wil, Drayke, Deagyn
