DC AND OUR SQUIRREL SITING AND GPS MALFUNCTION!

So this past weekend we took a trip up to D.C.. Wil had a martial arts seminar in Alexandria, Virginia so I contacted a friend that lives in DC( that I had not seen in 12 years and recently reunited with on facebook) and she came to pick me and the boys up...We decided that we would take the kids to the zoo to pass the time until Wil could meet back up with us...

So we go and pick her boyfriend up and head to the zoo...The kids were overly excited by the new friends and all the sites D.C. has to offer...We are riding in their jeep which is way taller then my small car and they were yelling yee haw like some little rebel cowboys or something...Yeh you would think we didn't get out much lol!

We get to the zoo...And decided to take them to the Panda house first...We passed many empty exhibits...Due to the cold, a lot of the Asian animals were inside...So after many empty exhibits we finally get to the Red Panda exhibits and there in a tree sat two adorable Red Panda's...The Zoo guide was explaining all about them and people were quite and listening very intently when Drayke yells "WOAH MOM LOOK A SQUIRREL," in his most excited little voice! Sure enough, in the bottom of the Red Panda exhibit, sit a little gray squirrel...The entire crowd killed over with laughter...It was priceless! The zoo guide asked where we were from and I knew what she was thinking so I answered, "yes we do have those where we're from!" LMAO...Bless his little heart...He had enough of the empty exhibits! He was determined he was going to see an animal...And well...He saw one...LOL...
Next was the Gorilla and Orangutan Exhibits...Their nature reminded me a lot of my boys...LoL...They were jumping, swinging, smacking, and scratching...Acting like a buncha' monkeys...There was a girl orangutan  named Bonnie and man did she have a personality...Drayke and Deagyn were touching the glass and she came right up to them, pressed her face against the glass, and put her finger up there as well...They thought that was so funny...Deagyn was giggling...It was so cute...Then she went and sit over in the corner as though she was in trouble...She kept peeping at them like she was playing with them...I told them she was stormy and she was in time out...They thought that was hilarious!

After all the exhibits we decided to leave, go back to my friend's house, and wait for Wil to drive up and meet us so we can head out to eat...Well my stinking phone was on roam so I was having to call one of our students phones to try and reach Wil and it was a nightmare!!! I wasn't sure if he even got the last message that we were changing our meeting place to her place so I had to pray that the front desk clerk had caught him before he left and given him the correct address...

So we go back to her place...And another friend of mine(I also hadn't seen in 12 years) stopped by to see us! What a nice surprise that was! I felt so blessed we were all reunited and I was on cloud nine...Well these adorable friends of mine...gave my kids some drum sticks and let them play rock band on their Wii to help pass the time while waiting on Wil...A 2 year old boy with drumsticks...Yeh for those of you who know how I am...I was a wreck! LMAO...I was so afraid he was going to break their glass table, knock their dog out, or throw one through the screen...Yeh I was close to a panic attack...While waiting, my kids got into their cabinets, ate all their cheese and crackers...Yeh...Drayke was talking about which Wii games he could con them out of(which by the way he did)...LOL...OMG...Deagyn was tormenting their dog by putting a block of cheese just out of reach of its nose because the dog knows its not allowed in the kitchen...Lets see what else...OMG CRAYONS!...They let Deagyn color...I finally had to ask for a drink! LMAO

Oh and during all of this...NO WIL...Finally after 3 hours of waiting on him he calls and said he is there and for me to come down to meet him...FOLKS WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNTOWN DC...So I go down there, go outside, and stand on the street corner for over 30 minutes and still no Wil...I thought my God what could have happened to my hubbles! I'm thinking I'm either looking like a hooker or a hobo standing just standing there...At this point I wished I had chugged that entire vodka bottle...LOL...Finally after becoming overly worried and aggravated I give up and go back up to the apartment...I was relieved to see that the kids hadn't broken anything while I was out...Karrin(my friend) was on the phone with Wil when I walked in...He had borrowed a phone from a security officer to call us lol...Bless his heart...Karrin finally figured out that he hadn't changed the gps over to DC and we found out that he was in Roslyn Virginia about 30 minutes away...I felt so bad for him and knew that he had to be frustrated...Not only for the fact that he had gone to the wrong address but the fact that our stinking phones weren't working...Finally he makes it safely to us and God was that a relief! I ran outside and had never been so happy to see him in all my life! LOL...

Then after my kids had conned them out of their food and Wii games they kicked us out...LOL...Nah...Jk...We all went out to this awesome place called BGR(Burger) lol...The burgers weren't much shorter then Deagyn lol...No lie...Had to climb that mug to eat it...Lol...The room was filled with 80's hair bands music, posters, and LOUD...LOUDER THEN MY KIDS...IT WAS FABULOUS!

I hated leaving as the time was too short...But I was so thankful to have found these 2 after 12 long years...I vowed to not let it be that long this time...So...here's to a fabulous day, fabulous trip, and most importantly such fabulous wonderful friends!

Here's a few pics of them too...On the long trip...
